Baker, I have always thought you were an amazing father, and this just reiterated that. You and Amy are the most loving, dedicated, and family oriented parents I know. I’ve always thought of you guys as like your own team, team Burleson. Kinda like when you all wore matching sweatsuits when czar took everyone to Anguilla. I loved that. WE are all in this together. I am here for you guys , want to support you in any way you made possibly need . 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Dr. Peter Attia recently offered a similar take on the coupling of suicidal impulse and the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s a short read with several good links in it.

Thank you to you and your son for sharing his story. Your willingness to be raw and exposed will save lives. I have no doubt that William’s courage will give someone else the strength to ask for help and will make those helping know that being there, even when you don’t exactly know how to help, matters and does make a difference. We lost a young friend to suicide several years ago and we still wonder how things may have been different if we were better equipped to talk about and address mental health issues in kids. Every time you share your story you open the door for someone to ask for help- thank you. As a mom and mental health professional, I look forward to following your journey. (And your notes on making it harder to commit suicide by limiting access to means is spot on.)
